Christopher Newport University invites applications to fill the Data Integrity and Quality Assurance Analyst position.  Under the direction of the University Registrar, this administrative/professional position is responsible for assisting with coordinating, documenting, encoding, and maintaining the system schedule of classes.  The successful candidate will assist with implementing an internal quality assurance component with the registration and course scheduling processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and will implement practices that contribute to achieving the goals of the University and the Office of the Registrar including initiatives that enhance program integrity and promote the “students first” service concept.

 

A Master’s Degree or a Bachelor’s degree and significant relevant experience that equates to an advanced degree is required.  The successful candidate must have knowledge of curriculum and academic program structures in a university setting; experience in staff supervision, training, and development; knowledge of federal laws as they apply to student records; demonstrated increasingly responsible functional and technical experience working in higher education administration; demonstrated expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite, SunGard SCT Banner student system, and SQL*Plus or Toad; evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (Buckley Amendment); knowledge and understanding of academic rules and regulations; excellent interpersonal and consensus building coloration skills; presentation and team-building skills; and the ability to pursue multiple tasks simultaneously.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in CAPP encoding; knowledge of Virginia laws as they apply to student records; progressively responsible experience in enrollment and student services functional area(s); demonstrated experience with Access or other relational database(s); aptitude for quality assurance initiatives; and demonstrated experience implementing innovative strategies to support student enrollment.
