A
Master’s Degree or a Bachelor’s degree and significant relevant experience that
equates to an advanced degree is required.
The successful candidate must have knowledge of curriculum and academic program structures in a university
setting; experience in staff supervision, training, and development; knowledge
of federal laws as they apply to student records; demonstrated increasingly
responsible functional and technical experience working in higher education
administration; demonstrated expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite, SunGard
SCT Banner student system, and SQL*Plus or Toad; evidence of excellent written
and oral communication skills; knowledge of Family Educational Rights and
Privacy Act (Buckley Amendment); knowledge and understanding of academic rules
and regulations; excellent interpersonal and consensus building coloration
skills; presentation and team-building skills; and the ability to pursue
multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in CAPP encoding;
knowledge of Virginia laws as they apply to student records; progressively
responsible experience in enrollment and student services functional area(s);
demonstrated experience with Access or other relational database(s); aptitude
for quality assurance initiatives; and demonstrated experience implementing
innovative strategies to support student enrollment.
