ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY

 

Christopher Newport University invites application to fill a one-year restricted (non-tenure-track) assistant professor position in Biology in the Department of Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science starting August 2008.  The University is seeking teacher-scholars who are committed to undergraduate education, who want to engage students in creative intellectual challenges, and who will be active in their service to the University and community.  Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field (in hand by August 1, 2008), demonstrated abilities in teaching on the college level, and effective communication skills.  The successful applicant must be able to teach introductory undergraduate biological science classes in the Liberal Learning Core.
